Jump Rope for Heart

Our 5th Annual Jump Rope for Heart ran from February 17th-February 19th.  During this week all classes engaged in jump rope activities during their regularly scheduled physical education class.  The importance of exercise and a healthy heart will be the focus of this event.

Jump Rope for Heart is a nationwide school event sponsored by the American Heart Association.  The event is designed to help promote children participating in cardiovascular activities, such as jumping rope.  The event also acts as a fundraiser to help raise money for the AHA and their fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke.  Students are encouraged but not required to raise money for the Jump Rope for Heart event.  Students that raise money will receive thank you gifts from the American Heart Association about a month after all the money is collected.

Jump Rope for Heart aligns with the National Health and Physical Education Standards.

Jump Rope for Heart was again successful this year.  As a school we raised $2,847.o6 for the American Heart Association.
